"Stayed here last night - it is a truly beautiful place with oodles of charm. That spa pool...and the roaring huge fire. A really classy hideaway in Awakino...who would have thought??? Thanks Garry!"
"Lodge is beautiful! A bit of laterarrival than we were hoping for last night, whoops. Some tired souls today for the race.
Wonderfully set up and phenomenal inside. Very much loving our stay here! You've done remarkably well with the interior decorating and furniture choice.
Thanks so much, will be in touch tomorrow midday when we depart. Will be sure to leave a glowing reference and visitors book note."
"The Lodge is amazing and truly unique. The attention to detail and comfort, inside and out, is incredible. There are truly no words to describe it (I am sincerely struggling)... let's just say that I would not change one thing. Not even one. In fact, I am going to be missing quite a few things, like the amazing kitchen and the unbelievably beautiful pieces of antique furniture. The whole place is a testament to the owners' passion for history, beauty and harmony. A truly incredible property."

We enjoyed a most magical time in your cosy lodge.
I have to concede some trepidation as we approached the slightly spooky entrance with out of season, gnarly, rose thorns and a sturdy gate bolt our 1st impression in a fading chilly light. The pub was closed and not a soul in sight. But with a glove off and the door palmed and decoded, we entered a stunning “kiwified Provence / Tuscan“ bubble that we were loath to step outside of during our 3 night stay.
Wonderful touches everywhere, casual but elegant, cosy but luxurious. Our 2 “Nadia Food bag” meals seemed designed for preparation in your country Kitchen and the gorgeous plates, dishes and dinning area you provided.
It took a day to rid the guilt we were feeling at having the whole place to ourselves, but with the fire (easily started) it quickly felt warmly intimate as our cares and worries melted away by the minute. We’re both quite tall and appreciated the height and breadth of the living area and master bedroom and ensuite…wow !
Embarking on a new adventure, leaving a trail of emotional debris in our wake, this was the perfect tonic for an admittedly love sick couple. As I pen this note from my desk back at work on a brisk Warkworth Monday, it is now a 40 year old in a 60 year old body.

Wonderful rustic lodge with all the home comforts and plenty of room. Garry and his daughter were fantastic to deal with. Will look forward to booking again. Fire and spa were great and the huge kitchen has everything any good chef would need. Overall an incredibly welcoming and comfortable place to while away a few relaxing days.
Had a very pleasant stay, a very romantic setting and great attention to detail, noticed something different each time I looked around. Was very warm and cosy despite how cold it was outside, so perfect for a winter escape! Spa was amazing! Kitchen has everything you need and more, will be back when our family visit from overseas! Thanks Garry :)

Relaxing weekend, fantastic peaceful place for a break away from city life. No phones, no mobiles – GREAT!!! River cruise definitely worth the trip, fresh snapper at Sparky’s – Yummy! A real hideaway.
