Location
Situated on the Awakino River one hour north of New Plymouth, two hours south of Hamilton and three-and-a-half hours from Auckland it's a haven from city stress and strain.
The local area has classic west coast beaches, fishing, hunting, tramping, a golf course and is world famous in New Zealand for its whitebait.
At Awakino, you’ll find just 15 houses in the town, a handful of which are permanent residences, plus the pub for a cold beer and classic kiwi meal, as well as the petrol station two kms away for all the essentials.
